Updated guidelines published

The Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England [FGDP(UK)] has published a new edition of Clinical examination and record keeping (CERK): good practice guidelines. The FGDP(UK)'s second edition of CERK informs the clinician on the practical and legal aspects of record-keeping, whilst complying with clinical governance.

New content includes information on the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Acts, with five scenarios to illustrate how the principles espoused in CERK work practically.

It has been updated in line with latest guidance from the General Dental Council, the British Dental Association, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the FGDP(UK). Where possible, the book includes parallel guidance on Scottish standards regulations. The updated edition is now available and you can order your copy of CERK now at the new price of £27 and FGDP(UK) members will be able to purchase CERK for the discounted rate of £22.
