How do my patients use Colgate Duraphat Rinse?

Patients should use Colgate Duraphat rinse once a week. They should rinse thoroughly for one minute using 5-10ml (equivalent of one to two teaspoonsful), then spit out. Patients should avoid eating, drinking and rinsing their mouths for 15 minutes afterwards.

Can Duraphat Rinse be used every day?

Colgate Duraphat rinse contains a higher level of fluoride than most widely available fluoride rinses. The recommended usage is once a week.

What sort of patients is Duraphat Rinse suitable for?

Patients who are at high risk of caries would benefit from Colgate Duraphat rinse as part of their at-home oral hygiene regime. These include patients with a history of a high level of caries, patients with orthodontic appliances, handicapped or mentally compromised patients, patients suffering from Xerostomia, adult patients with exposed root surfaces.
