What is the difference between the 2 Colgate Smiles toothpastes?
The Colgate Smiles 2-6 years toothpaste is specifically designed for children with deciduous teeth. As it contains 500ppm F, it is primarily intended as an aid to teach children how to brush their teeth and develop healthy oral hygiene habits at an early age. Should children of this age be considered to be at higher risk of caries, or already have carious lesions, the dental practitioner should advise parents on the appropriate level of fluoride needed to protect their childrens deciduous teeth against caries1
For children under 3 years of age, a smear of toothpaste should be used for children over 3 years of age, a pea-sized amount of the Colgate Smiles 2-6 years toothpaste should be used twice a day.
The Colgate 6+ years toothpaste is specifically designed for children who have some erupted permanent teeth and offers cavity protection. It contains 1000ppm F. A pea-sized amount of Colgate Smiles 6+ should be used twice a day to provide a higher daily fluoride dose. It's cool mint flavour with star-shaped mint strips help make brushing teeth more fun.
